Engineering Manager – Observability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee and nurture backend and frontend engineers through constructive feedback and career development discussions.

• Work alongside go-to-market teams to assist customers and prospects throughout their Observability collection journey.

• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to incorporate Fleet Management, the Kubernetes Helm Chart, and the Instrumentation Hub into Grafana Cloud’s comprehensive user experience.

• Direct projects from conception through planning, execution, and post-launch phases.

• Promote psychological safety, innovation, learning, and ongoing enhancement.

• Engage across team boundaries and collaborate with other departments to address customer challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant advantage: experience in Observability, particularly with OpenTelemetry, or in creating a central control plane for managing fleets of collectors.

• Ability to work effectively with highly autonomous engineering teams.

• Up-to-date knowledge of technical trends and engineering obstacles.

• Proficient in collaborating across various time zones and cultures in a fully remote setting.

• Proven capability to navigate complexity, align stakeholders, and enhance team performance.

• Strong customer-centric mindset.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems principles, including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, and observability.

• Comfortable utilizing AI-assisted tools; practical experience in integrating AI-powered solutions into a team's workflow is preferred.

• Ability to work remotely from Germany, Sweden, Spain, Ireland, or the UK.
