This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers focused on building Reddit’s Knowledge Graph Platform.
• Define the technical direction and roadmap for a scalable knowledge graph platform.
• Establish data and API contracts, service interfaces, reliability, observability, performance, and enhance developer experience.
• Set production-grade operating standards, SLOs, data quality measures, governance mechanisms, and implement safe change-management practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, computational linguists, and domain expert teams regarding ontology, data quality, governance, and platform evolution.
• Ensure the knowledge graph remains current and comprehensive for key use cases.
• Work alongside the dedicated data labeling team to achieve data coverage and quality objectives.
• Collaborate with internal product and engineering teams to identify needs, prioritize use cases, and enhance platform accessibility.
• Propel graph-powered features in shopping, search, ads marketplace models, and consumer feed models.
• Influence architectural and technical design decisions and contribute hands-on when beneficial.
• Communicate strategy, priorities, risks, and progress across a distributed, cross-functional organization.
• Over 8 years of overall software engineering experience.
• More than 2 years of direct experience in managing, coaching, and developing engineering teams.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Experience in building or operating AI/ML-powered or data-intensive platforms.
• A proven history of leading shared technical systems with multiple internal clients.
• Strong comprehension of platform operating models, data or service-level contracts, documentation, and self-service adoption.
• Experience in establishing data contracts concerning quality, lineage, or governance.
• Strong technical judgment across distributed systems, backend services, data platforms, APIs, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Capability to make technical and product trade-offs amidst ambiguity.
• Experience in collaborating and communicating with engineers, senior leaders, and partner teams across various time zones.
• A Master’s or Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics, or a related field is a plus.
• Experience with knowledge graphs, semantic or ontology systems, entity resolution, search, or contextual grounding is highly preferred.
