Engineering Manager – Java Full Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Manage the design, development, and implementation of new software systems as well as enhancements to existing solutions.

• Set an example through hands-on coding and take ownership of essential features and core systems.

• Assist in defining problems and designing solutions amidst changing requirements.

• Cultivate a creative and unified team capable of executing complex software projects.

• Collaborate with scrum masters, project managers, and software engineers to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain applications across cloud, web, mobile, and desktop platforms.

• Ensure that software engineering initiatives are completed on schedule and meet established quality standards.

• Utilize AI tools to enhance development processes, boost efficiency, and aid in debugging and validation.

• Continuously advance technical expertise and share new tools and AI-driven development practices with the team.

• Uphold high software quality standards by promoting good practices and habits.

• Offer performance feedback, coaching, and career development opportunities to team members.

• Facilitate root cause analysis and assist in resolving production-related issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.

• Proficient in several programming languages including Java, C++, C#, Python, and JavaScript.

• Background in full-stack development.

• Familiarity with modern architectures such as microservices and event-driven architectures.

• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, functional programming, scripting, UX best practices, unit testing, TDD/BDD, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and database management with SQL and NoSQL.

• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools.

• Demonstrated success in managing software products, leading teams, and delivering quality solutions on schedule.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, client management, communication, and collaboration capabilities.

• Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.

• Familiarity with version control using Git, testing frameworks, and software security practices.

• Capacity to adapt to rapidly changing environments and evolving requirements.
