Engineering Manager, Growth

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Lead engineering initiatives for Growth across product and marketing channels.

• Provide support to engineers through consistent coaching, constructive feedback, and meaningful career discussions.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Marketing teams to prioritize tasks based on customer needs and data analysis.

• Maintain close involvement in technical decisions and product specifics.

• Assist in creating clear, accessible, and responsive customer experiences.

• Link customer insights, product modifications, and performance metrics to evaluate impact.

• Influence Buffer’s strategy for AI development through experimentation, informed judgment, and efficient systems.

• Contribute to the broader Engineering team by participating in hiring, sharing best practices, and enhancing workflows.

• Engage in the recruitment process and foster teamwork.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing engineering teams.

• Proficiency in coaching engineers, delivering clear feedback, facilitating career development, and addressing performance issues.

• Strong engineering foundation with a comfort in technical specifics, including code reviews, architectural exploration, prototyping, and technical trade-offs.

• Experience with AI applications in engineering tasks and capability to assess and guide AI outputs.

• Excellent written communication skills.

• Capacity to take initiative and collaborate across various disciplines and time zones.

• Understanding of product growth strategies, including acquisition, monetization, retention, and experimental approaches.

• Personal engagement in creation and sharing activities, such as writing a newsletter, showcasing work online, developing a side project, or managing a small business.
