Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Recruit, onboard, and develop a team of full-stack and backend engineers for an innovative new product.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, establish clear objectives, and provide direct, constructive feedback.

• Manage team performance, including calibration and challenging conversations.

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to define and prioritize the Arcnine roadmap before and after its launch.

• Lead architectural decisions for a real-time trading interface and execution systems.

• Review pull requests, contribute to design documents, and assist engineers in overcoming challenging issues.

• Steer delivery amid uncertainty, encompassing sprint planning, progress monitoring, and scope adjustments.

• Set standards for testing, code quality, and CI/CD processes.

• Ensure production reliability and observability throughout the launch phase, including incident response.

• Establish scalable engineering practices and norms for a new team.

• Contribute to engineering standards and recruitment practices across Tradeify.

• Represent Arcnine’s progress, challenges, and requirements in cross-functional planning sessions.

• Report directly to the CTO.

• Construct Arcnine, Tradeify’s next trading platform, from inception through launch and early iterations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in managing or leading engineers, along with hands-on engineering experience.

• Background in full-stack or backend engineering.

• Frontend experience with frameworks such as React, Next.js, or Vue.

• Backend proficiency in languages including Python, Node.js, C#, or Go.

• Experience with REST APIs and WebSocket-based, real-time services.

• Familiarity with relational and/or in-memory data stores such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, or MongoDB.

• Experience operating production systems on platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure using Docker/Kubernetes.

• Comfort in building from scratch in ambiguous or rapidly evolving product environments.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, capable of engaging with non-technical stakeholders, including founders and traders.

• Experience in fintech, trading, or cryptocurrency sectors.

• Familiarity with real-time systems and event-driven architectures, such as Kafka, NATS, or Pulsar.

• Knowledge of TimescaleDB or ClickHouse.

• Prior experience as an Engineering Manager for a pre-launch or early-stage product.

• Experience managing teams utilizing AI-assisted development tools regularly.

• Flexibility to work varied hours to facilitate collaboration across different time zones, including the U.S.

• Must indicate if visa sponsorship will be necessary for maintaining work authorization in the country of employment.

• Must confirm whether they have worked professionally for a proprietary trading firm.
