Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Ensure that engineering outputs provide significant value to customers.

• Define the technical and architectural roadmap.

• Enhance team capabilities for sustainable delivery.

• Lead an engineering team, assuming responsibility for solutions focused on customer needs.

• Collaborate with Product Management, Product, and Design teams to identify problems and create solutions.

• Oversee capacity management, planning, priorities, trade-offs, and the delivery process from discovery to release and follow-up.

• Foster collaboration among engineering teams and cross-functional partners.

• Provide guidance on system design, scalability, performance, maintainability, architecture, and managing technical debt.

• Establish enduring engineering practices and uphold quality standards.

• Mentor engineers through consistent feedback and development discussions.

• Develop technology that supports secure and reliable infrastructure for private-market operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience leading engineering teams, demonstrating a history of developing engineers and ensuring delivery accountability.

• A collaborative mindset, strong work ethic, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• A product-oriented approach and the ability to collaborate with Product and Design teams to convert customer challenges into effective technical solutions.

• Proficient in backend development with TypeScript or another strongly typed programming language.

• Familiarity with SQL databases and Nest.js or similar frameworks, such as Spring Boot or ASP.NET Core.

• Solid grasp of system design principles, scalability, and performance optimization.

• Sound judgment regarding architectural trade-offs and management of technical debt.

• Ability to implement structure in a growing organization while maintaining pragmatic and outcome-focused processes.

• Experience in private markets, fintech, highly regulated industries, or document processing is advantageous.

• Must currently reside in Spain or Portugal and possess the legal right to work there.
