This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Lead and develop a team of engineers focused on enhancing Bubble's developer experience.
• Own the strategy and roadmap for Developer Experience.
• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance engineering velocity and quality.
• Guide career development and oversee hiring for the team.
• Equitably expand, nurture, and promote engineers.
• Assess and incorporate emerging technologies, including AI tools, into the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with staff engineers and engineering managers to implement changes throughout Bubble.
• Establish technical quality standards for the codebase.
• Balance investments in technical debt with progress on the product roadmap.
• Optimize the local development process, including build, bundling, and hot reload times.
• Manage complex initiatives from technical design through to execution.
• Review pull requests, contribute to architectural decisions, and write code as time allows.
• Deliver quantifiable improvements to developer velocity, performance, or satisfaction.
• Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• More than 3 years of experience in engineering management.
• Strong proficiency across the technology stack, from frontend to infrastructure.
• Experience with developer tools, including build systems, bundlers, testing frameworks, package managers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with leveraging AI tools to enhance development workflows.
• A critical viewpoint on the safe and effective integration of AI tools.
• Proven experience in organizing and leading multiple projects with alignment, execution, and measurable outcomes.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to balance practical short-term improvements with strategic, scalable solutions.
• Adaptability and a strong sense of curiosity.
• Proactively identify inefficiencies, investigate underlying causes, and design scalable solutions.
