Engineering Lead, Credit Risk

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Direct the Credit Risk Engineering team, establishing technical direction, planning project delivery, mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and actively participating in critical tasks.

• Design, develop, and manage backend services and APIs that integrate risk capabilities into Kiwi's lending offerings.

• Enhance the reliability of credit decision processes across services and external dependencies, focusing on API contracts, latency, timeouts, failure handling, observability, and incident response.

• Collaborate with Credit Risk and Data Science teams to integrate models into production and advance MLOps practices, including deployment automation, versioning, testing, monitoring, and rollback.

• Optimize the architecture and maintainability of risk services and integrations while addressing technical debt and delivering new risk functionalities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams while remaining actively involved in system design, implementation, and production support.

• Robust backend engineering expertise in TypeScript and Node.js, including the development and operation of APIs and microservices.

• Experience in integrating services into essential customer workflows, with a thorough understanding of latency, timeouts, partial failures, retries, and observability.

• Proven hands-on experience with MLOps in a production environment, covering model deployment, versioning, monitoring, and rollback.

• Familiarity with Python and experience collaborating on systems that deploy machine learning models in production.

• Experience in deploying and managing containerized services on AWS, utilizing Docker and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL proficiency, including the ability to investigate data quality and production challenges.

• Excellent technical judgment and the capability to collaborate effectively across Engineering, Credit Risk, and Data Science teams.

• Proficiency in English at least at an intermediate level.

• Previous experience in similar roles.

• Background in fintech organizations.
