Engineer IV

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and implementation of industrial control systems for applications related to water treatment and purification.

• Develop and modify PLC programs, HMI applications, and control logic to align with customer and project specifications.

• Assist with system integration, testing, commissioning, startup, and optimization processes.

• Engage in project discovery sessions, kickoff meetings, customer discussions, and technical evaluations.

• Diagnose intricate automation, instrumentation, and electrical system challenges.

• Offer technical support during pre-sales and post-sales phases, including recommendations for controls architecture and cost assessments.

• Aid field service teams with diagnostics and troubleshooting related to controls.

• Suggest system enhancements that improve reliability, performance, and reduce long-term operating expenses.

• Conduct audits of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems on-site.

• Generate technical reports that include findings, suggestions, and strategies for improvement.

• Facilitate operator training and knowledge transfer initiatives.

• Support the calibration and commissioning of process instrumentation and analytical tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in industrial process control, automation, or instrumentation engineering.

• Demonstrated experience in developing, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting industrial control systems.

• Solid knowledge of P&IDs, ISA standards, instrumentation diagrams, and electrical schematics.

• Proficient in AutoCAD and electrical drawing revisions.

• Capability to create project plans, establish milestones, and oversee technical deliverables.

• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC platforms, including SLC, CompactLogix, and ControlLogix.

• Familiarity with Siemens PLC platforms, such as S7-200, S7-300, S7-1200, and S7-1500.

• Expertise in PLC programming, configuration, diagnostics, and commissioning.

• Knowledge of HMI development, screen design, configuration, and troubleshooting.

• Understanding of SCADA systems and industrial automation frameworks.

• Proficient in industrial networking protocols, including Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, Modbus, and RS-485.

• Experience with process instrumentation technologies, including flow, pressure, temperature, level, conductivity, pH, ORP, and similar.

• Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Danfoss).

• Knowledge of industrial power distribution, motor controls, and electrical safety standards such as NEC and NFPA 70E.

• Preferred: Background in water treatment, wastewater treatment, or industrial water processing.

• Preferred: Experience in commissioning systems within refinery, power generation, chemical processing, or other heavy industrial contexts.

• Preferred: Strong technical writing abilities with experience in developing commissioning protocols, troubleshooting documentation, and engineering reports.
