Engineer III – Relay Settings, Systems Protection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, specify, calculate settings for, and coordinate protective relaying and relay control schemes.

• Conduct modeling, short circuit studies, and assessments of overstressed breakers.

• Formulate protective relaying recommendations for proposed generation interconnections to clients’ electrical systems.

• Ensure that relay setting activities, initiatives, and processes align with company policies, objectives, and client design standards.

• Present technical solutions to key customers in a professional manner.

• Address technical concerns in real time and respond to inquiries knowledgeably and articulately.

• Collaborate with Qualus groups and individuals to create and implement technical solutions that support the objectives of the Engineering Department.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a focus on power systems, or a Master's degree in engineering in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.

• International Engineering Degrees will be taken into account.

• Experience in protection and control engineering as well as relay settings.

• Proficiency in using ASPEN or CAPE software.

• Professional Engineering registration or plans to obtain registration is an advantage.

• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with computers.

• Capability to identify necessary software for completing design work.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of support personnel.

• A strong commitment to customer service and care.

• Highly motivated self-starter with proven multitasking capabilities.

• Outstanding document management and organizational skills.

• Familiarity with CYME, reclosers, sectionalizing schemes, and fuse coordination is preferred.
