Engineer III, Recovery Services Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Implement intricate recovery procedures tailored to customers for hardware provisioning, operating system installation, server configuration, and restoration of operating systems, applications, and data.

• Oversee the work queue, fulfill assigned tickets and related tasks, and provide clear, concise, accurate, and timely updates within the ticketing system.

• Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues on relevant platforms.

• Provide mentorship to Engineer I and Engineer II colleagues.

• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to enhance infrastructure design and strategy while identifying infrastructure bottlenecks that may impact backup restores.

• Propose methods to enhance operational efficiency.

• Review technical recovery procedures to ensure clarity and accuracy prior to recovery or testing events.

• Develop, update, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the Knowledge Base for designated recovery technology areas.

• Lead pre-test meetings, document platform dependencies, and ensure that servers or applications are ready for upcoming tests.

• Recognize and adhere to escalation procedures.

• Manage company data and information in accordance with company agreements, procedures, and policies.

• Complete annual compliance training and policy acknowledgments.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.

• A minimum of 7 years of technical recovery technology experience in a position involving direct customer interaction.

• Extensive hands-on experience in building, troubleshooting, installing, and upgrading various recovery technologies, including Backup, Networking, Citrix, VMware, Cloud platforms, IBM iSeries, IBM Mainframe, and Unix and Windows OS.

• Profound troubleshooting skills in at least one operating system (MS-Windows / Unix) and Cloud platforms.

• Operational familiarity with Storage Area Networks (SAN), Fiber Channel technology, Network Attached Storage (NAS), or external disk storage arrays is preferred.

• In-depth understanding of TCP/IP and networking technologies, along with the ability to effectively utilize diagnostic tools.

• Prior experience with disaster recovery exercises is required.

• Proficiency in two or more recovery technologies and a willingness to learn new processes and technologies while striving for multi-skilling.

• Readiness to accommodate additional hours or varying shifts as necessary based on the company’s 24 x 7 global operating model.

• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Must be legally eligible to work in the assigned country without the need for visa sponsorship.
