Engineer III, Recovery Services Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Implement intricate customer-oriented recovery protocols within designated recovery technology areas.

• Setup hardware, install operating systems, configure servers, and recover operating systems, applications, and data.

• Oversee the work queue, complete assigned tickets and related tasks, providing clear, concise, accurate, and timely updates in the ticketing system.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues across applicable platforms.

• Provide mentorship to Engineer I and Engineer II colleagues.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance infrastructure design and strategy.

• Recognize infrastructure bottlenecks that could affect backup restorations.

• Discover methods to enhance operational efficiency.

• Review technical recovery procedures for clarity and precision prior to recovery or testing events.

• Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Knowledge Base documentation.

• Lead pre-test discussions, capture platform dependencies, and ensure readiness of servers or applications for upcoming tests.

• Identify and adhere to escalation protocols.

• Manage company data and information in accordance with data handling agreements, procedures, and policies.

• Complete annual compliance training certifications and policy acknowledgments.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.

• Over 7 years of technical recovery technology experience in a role that involves direct customer interaction.

• Extensive practical experience in building, troubleshooting, installing, and upgrading multiple recovery technologies, including Backup, Networking, Citrix, VMware, Cloud platforms, IBM iSeries, IBM Mainframe, and Unix and Windows OS.

• In-depth troubleshooting expertise in at least one OS (MS-Windows / Unix) and Cloud platforms.

• Operational familiarity with Storage Area Networks (SAN), Fiber Channel technology, Network Attached Storage (NAS), or external disk storage arrays is preferred.

• Profound understanding of TCP/IP and network technologies, with the ability to effectively utilize diagnostic tools when necessary.

• Prior experience with disaster recovery exercises is required.

• Capability to swiftly adapt and learn new processes and technologies.

• Proficiency in two or more recovery technologies, with a willingness to pursue multi-skilling.

• Flexibility to accommodate additional hours or varying shift types as needed, based on the company's 24 x 7 global operating model.

• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Must possess legal eligibility to work in the assigned country without requiring visa sponsorship.
