This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee, troubleshoot, and enhance recovery infrastructure and processes to ensure dependable and efficient restoration during disruptions.
• Implement intricate customer-specific recovery procedures within designated recovery technology focus areas.
• Provision hardware, install operating systems, configure servers, and restore operating systems, applications, and data.
• Manage the work queue and complete assigned tickets along with related activities.
• Provide timely and precise updates in the ticketing system.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex issues on relevant platforms.
• Mentor Engineer I and Engineer II colleagues.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to advance infrastructure design and strategy.
• Recognize infrastructure bottlenecks that could affect backup restores.
• Discover methods to enhance operational efficiency.
• Review technical recovery procedures for clarity and accuracy prior to recovery or test events.
• Create, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Knowledge Base content for assigned recovery technology areas.
• Lead pre-test calls, capture platform dependencies, and ensure servers or applications are ready for upcoming tests.
• Identify and adhere to escalation procedures.
• Handle company data and information in accordance with data handling agreements, procedures, and policies.
• Review and comply with company policies, data privacy practices, annual compliance training, and policy acknowledgments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s or University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• Over 7 years of technical recovery technology experience in a role involving direct customer interaction.
• Extensive hands-on experience in building, troubleshooting, installing, and upgrading multiple types of recovery technology, including Backup, Networking, Citrix, VMware and Cloud platforms, IBM iSeries, IBM Mainframe, as well as Unix and Windows OS.
• Profound troubleshooting knowledge in at least one operating system (MS-Windows / Unix) and Cloud platforms.
• Operational experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN), Fiber Channel technology, Network Attached Storage (NAS), or external disk storage arrays is preferred.
• In-depth expertise in TCP/IP and network technologies, with the ability to effectively utilize diagnostic tools as required.
• Prior experience with disaster recovery exercises is mandatory.
• Expertise in two or more recovery technologies, along with a willingness to learn new processes and technologies and work towards multi-skilling.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the designated country without the need for visa sponsorship.
• Ability to satisfactorily perform each essential function.
• Willingness to work additional hours or varying shifts as necessary in a 24 x 7 global operating model.
