This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Deliver technical leadership and engineering expertise for projects involving overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
• Implement client standards, industry best practices, and regulatory guidelines in the design and execution of distribution projects.
• Facilitate project execution by managing tasks, tracking performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and nurturing strong client relationships.
• Create and supervise engineering design packages utilizing client-specific software and design tools, including Distribution Design Studio, Pole Foreman, Design Manager, WMS, and AutoCAD.
• Conduct QA/QC evaluations of engineering and design outputs to guarantee technical accuracy, quality, consistency, and adherence to project specifications.
• Mentor and offer technical support to junior engineers and designers through training, design assessments, and knowledge exchange.
• Effectively communicate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Recognize opportunities to enhance engineering processes, design standards, team performance, and technical expertise.
• Maintain productivity and flexibility in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or a related field) from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 5-8 years of experience in electric utility distribution engineering and design.
• Background in designing and supporting overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Familiarity with utility distribution standards, NESC regulations, and utility construction methods.
• Skilled in utility design and work management software, including Pole Foreman, Design Manager/Electric Office, WMS, AutoCAD, or comparable platforms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in preparing, reviewing, and coordinating engineering design packages as well as construction work orders.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and client relationship management abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent organizational skills, document management proficiency, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven track record in performing technical reviews and ensuring the quality, accuracy, and compliance of engineering deliverables.
• Experience in mentoring and providing technical support to engineers, designers, and technical personnel.
