This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Deliver technical guidance and engineering expertise for both overhead and underground electrical distribution system projects.
• Implement client standards, industry best practices, and regulatory guidelines in the design and execution of distribution projects.
• Facilitate project execution by overseeing assignments, monitoring performance, addressing technical challenges, and nurturing client relations.
• Develop and manage engineering design packages utilizing Distribution Design Studio, Pole Foreman, Design Manager, WMS, and AutoCAD.
• Conduct QA/QC assessments of engineering and design outputs.
• Mentor and provide technical support to junior engineers and designers through training sessions, design evaluations, and knowledge sharing.
• Engage with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to facilitate project delivery.
• Recognize opportunities to enhance engineering processes, design standards, team efficiency, and technical skills.
• Maintain productivity and flexibility in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or a related field) from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 5–8 years of experience in electric utility distribution engineering and design.
• Proven experience in designing and supporting overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Familiarity with utility distribution standards, NESC regulations, and utility construction methodologies.
• Skilled in utility design and work management software, including Pole Foreman, Design Manager/Electric Office, WMS, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in preparing, reviewing, and coordinating engineering design packages and construction work orders.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and client relationship management abilities.
• Capable of managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent organizational skills, document management capabilities, and attention to detail.
• Proven track record of conducting technical reviews to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance of engineering outputs.
• Experience mentoring and providing technical support to engineers, designers, and technical staff.
