This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Deliver technical leadership and engineering expertise for projects involving overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
• Implement client standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements in the design and execution of distribution projects.
• Facilitate project execution by overseeing assignments, tracking performance, addressing technical challenges, and nurturing client relationships.
• Create and manage engineering design packages utilizing Distribution Design Studio, Pole Foreman, Design Manager, WMS, and AutoCAD.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews of engineering and design outputs.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers and designers through training sessions, design evaluations, and knowledge sharing.
• Liaise with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Recognize areas for enhancement in engineering processes, design standards, team performance, and technical skills.
• Sustain productivity and adaptability within a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or a related field) from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 3-5 years of experience in electric utility distribution engineering and design.
• Proficient in designing and supporting overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Familiarity with utility distribution standards, NESC requirements, and construction practices in the utility sector.
• Expertise in utility design and work management software, including Pole Foreman, Design Manager/Electric Office, WMS, AutoCAD, or comparable tools.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in preparing, reviewing, and coordinating engineering design packages and construction work orders.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and client relationship management abilities.
• Capacity to handle multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent organizational, document management, and attention to detail skills.
• Proven ability to conduct technical reviews and ensure the quality, accuracy, and compliance of engineering deliverables.
