Engineer, Commercialization, Footwear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Indonesia.

📋 Description

• Represent the commercialization aspect during the early product development cycle in product review meetings with Asia Product teams nominated by VF.

• Utilize subject matter expertise in production to confirm that development samples meet commercialization requirements.

• Collaborate with brand and vendor development, engineering, and production teams to ensure precision in patterns, fit, materials, and assembly techniques.

• Guarantee that product development and vendor teams perform accurate laboratory testing for product performance.

• Lead and monitor extreme fit trial schedules carried out by brand-approved fit and wear test teams.

• Maintain the timeline of fit trials in alignment with product BR timelines and communicate each phase to cross-functional stakeholders.

• Oversee both downstream and upstream teams to ensure adherence to timelines, ensuring BR and T4 readiness.

• Collaborate with VF’s designated GMS mold tooling team to synchronize extreme and full-size tooling timelines with BR and production planning.

• Work alongside VF’s costing team to validate sample and production patterns concerning yield utilization.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of pertinent experience in manufacturing, technical, or production settings within esteemed fashion, retail, or consumer-facing multinational organizations.

• Holder of a degree in Textiles or related fields such as Eq./Apparel/Footwear.

• Subject matter expertise in footwear, LEAN manufacturing, automation, patterns, laboratory standards and testing, and materials.

• Capability to simplify complex engineering scenarios and information into easily understandable communication, both in writing and verbally.

• Familiarity with footwear technical constructions, laboratory testing, material performance, fit and wear, LEAN production, automation, and speed development.

• Ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional, multicultural team.

• Skill in delivering technical feedback in a clear and impactful manner.

• Strong knowledge of paper pattern creation.

• Understanding of digital product creation is an advantage.

• A strong advocate of VF’s core pillars.

• Excellent proficiency in English; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus, along with knowledge of the local regional language.
