This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee strategic planning consulting initiatives, encompassing market, technology, and policy evaluations.

• Direct and participate in project economic and cost analyses, risk evaluations, and contracting methodologies.

• Manage technical due diligence and owner’s engineering assessments for power and energy initiatives.

• Offer client program and project management assistance, focusing on enhancing governance, business processes, controls, and stakeholder engagement.

• Collaborate with Sargent & Lundy technical teams to develop conceptual plans.

• Create and present project implementation strategies and plans to client executives and project teams.

• Convert intricate technical findings into client-ready presentations and written documents.

• Lead specific workstreams within broader client projects.

• Oversee the daily activities, technical methods, hours, and adherence to budget and scope of junior team members.

• Foster staff expertise through training and mentorship.

• Assist in business development, proposal crafting, and building client relationships.

• Support energy-sector clients in navigating utility planning, new generation portfolio development, grid modernization, and energy campus planning.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering; other engineering fields or finance/economics may also be accepted.

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in the power sector.

• Proficiency and technical knowledge across various power generation technologies.

• Experience in managing teams of engineers and/or consultants.

• Previous management consulting or advisory background with a consulting firm, advisory practice, engineering company, or energy firm.

• Direct involvement with clients and accountability for analytical deliverables.

• Experience collaborating with electric or gas utilities, independent power producers, project developers, grid operators, or energy investors.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Proficiency in working with quantitative models, extensive data sets, and financial or economic analyses.

• Capability to produce clear, well-organized Excel models, PowerPoint presentations, and written reports.

• Ability to explain complex subjects to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in leading client meetings, workshops, or presentations.

• Competence in managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic, project-oriented consulting environment.

• High levels of initiative, ownership, and accountability, with a proven track record of delivering quality work with minimal supervision.

• U.S. work authorization is required; the employer does not provide sponsorship for work authorization in the U.S.

• Valued but not mandatory: expertise in technical due diligence and owner’s engineering design reviews of power projects.

• Valued but not mandatory: knowledge of power plant operations and performance.

• Valued but not mandatory: understanding of electric utility business models, planning processes, and operations.

• Valued but not mandatory: experience in economic evaluation, cost analysis, and contract development, including PPAs, EPC contracts, and O&M agreements.
