
Energy Specialist – Residential

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Perform comprehensive and precise residential energy audits assessing insulation, appliances, HVAC systems, lighting, electrical systems, moisture, and air quality.
• Execute in-home energy evaluations on combustion appliances.
• Implement instant-savings initiatives such as energy-efficient light bulbs and water-saving devices.
• Utilize proprietary software to generate on-site assessment reports.
• Articulate suggested energy-efficiency measures, their advantages, costs, and potential savings.
• Obtain homeowner consent for proposed work.
• Coordinate available rebates and financing alternatives.
• Follow up with homeowners to guarantee high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Travel daily to clients' residences.
• Achieve BPI Building Analyst certification within six months of employment with company support.
• Minimum of two years' experience in residential construction or energy efficiency, including familiarity with building materials, systems, or diagnostics.
• Strong analytical capabilities, drawing/drafting skills, and a solid understanding of mathematics.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, including the capacity to explain technical concepts and program details both verbally and in writing.
• Experience in sales or other customer-facing roles.
• A strong commitment to and passion for energy efficiency.
• Proficiency in Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• High school diploma or equivalent, along with relevant post-secondary education.
• Alternative combinations of education, training, and experience may be assessed individually.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record, with the ability to travel daily to clients' homes.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying and climbing ladders, accessing attics, basements, and crawlspaces, and using small tools and installation equipment.
• Must pass criminal background and drug screening tests.
• BPI professional certification(s) or RESNET Home Energy Rater certification is preferred.
• A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
