Energy Efficiency Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute the corporate energy efficiency program.

• Track energy consumption metrics across administrative units, POPs, Data Centers, Hubs, and telecommunications stations.

• Discover opportunities for consumption reduction through technical evaluations and performance analysis.

• Conduct energy audits and formulate action plans aimed at cost reduction.

• Compare consumption among similar units.

• Oversee contracts in both the Regulated Market and Free Energy Market.

• Assess the migration of consumer units to the ACL (Free Energy Market).

• Determine contracted demands for Medium and High Voltage units.

• Identify and rectify improper charges related to demand, reactive energy, demand exceedances, and other tariff components.

• Assist in contract renewal and negotiation processes.

• Evaluate solar energy initiatives, distributed generation, and other renewable energy sources.

• Create technical and financial feasibility studies.

• Contribute to decarbonization efforts and CO₂ emissions reduction.

• Monitor energy-related ESG indicators.

• Identify potential tax credits associated with energy expenses (ICMS, PIS, and COFINS) in collaboration with the Fiscal and Tax departments.

• Ensure compliance with ANEEL regulations and utility requirements.

• Assist with internal and external audits.

• Manage requests for new connections and adjustments in load.

• Oversee tariff class change processes.

• Address billing discrepancies.

• Coordinate technical engagements with energy distribution companies.

• Prepare the annual energy budget.

• Develop forecasts for consumption and expenses.

• Monitor the budget and identify variances.

• Construct business cases for investments in energy efficiency.

• Create dashboards and KPIs.

• Automate consumption monitoring controls.

• Conduct predictive analyses to detect anomalies.

• Prepare executive presentations for senior management.

• Lead multidisciplinary projects focused on energy efficiency.

• Collaborate with Facilities, Engineering, Network Operations, Procurement, Tax, and Sustainability teams.

• Support network expansion initiatives with a focus on energy optimization.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related disciplines.

• Postgraduate degree or MBA in Energy Management, Energy Efficiency, Free Energy Market, Project Management, or similar areas (preferred).

• Experience in energy management within large organizations.

• Familiarity with Medium and High Voltage consumer units.

• Experience in the Free Energy Market.

• Knowledge of tariff analysis.

• Experience in energy efficiency projects.

• Preferred experience in the telecommunications, utilities, or distributed infrastructure sectors.

• Understanding of ANEEL tariff structure.

• Knowledge of the Free Energy Market (ACL).

• Familiarity with energy management systems (ISO 50001).

• Expertise in sizing contracted demand.

• Knowledge of reactive power and power factor concepts.

• Understanding of distributed generation and solar energy.

• Familiarity with tax recovery mechanisms for ICMS, PIS, and COFINS related to energy.

• Experience in reading and auditing energy bills.

• Proficiency in financial modeling and feasibility analysis.

• Knowledge of BI tools (Power BI or Tableau).

• Advanced Excel skills.

• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).

• CMVP (Certified Measurement & Verification Professional) certification (advantageous).

• PMP or equivalent certification (advantageous).

• ISO 50001 certification (advantageous).

• Knowledge of energy storage solutions (BESS) (advantageous).

• Experience with Data Centers and critical infrastructure (advantageous).

• Experience in organizations with over 1,000 consumer units (advantageous).

• Familiarity with automation and IoT applications in energy monitoring (advantageous).

• Experience negotiating PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements) (advantageous).
