Junior LiDAR Processing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Process, classify, and validate aerial LiDAR and point cloud data for utility and power infrastructure initiatives.

• Analyze extensive spatial and 3D datasets.

• Extract and model utility assets such as power lines, conductors, poles, towers, vegetation, and ground features.

• Identify and resolve data quality issues.

• Contribute to GIS and LiDAR projects related to infrastructure and utility applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–4 years of experience in LiDAR / point cloud processing.

• Practical experience with point cloud classification and quality assurance/control.

• Familiarity with working on 3D spatial data.

• Experience in feature extraction from LiDAR datasets.

• Strong attention to detail and capability to spot data quality problems.

• Basic to intermediate understanding of GIS.

• Preferred: Experience with utility, power transmission, or distribution data.

• Preferred: Experience with aerial LiDAR.

• Preferred: Experience handling conductors, poles/towers, vegetation, and ground classes.

• Preferred: Knowledge of conductor/catenary modeling and clearance analysis.

• Preferred: Experience with PLS-CADD, TerraSolid/TerraScan, or MicroStation.

• Preferred: Background in utility asset modeling or powerline mapping.
