This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Deliver targeted course material within an online setting
• Offer instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process
• Tailor learning experiences to address the unique needs of each student
• Track student progress utilizing Stride K12’s learning management system
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities
• Differentiate teaching methods based on student proficiency
• Enhance course material using approved synchronous and asynchronous resources
• Maintain the grade book to uphold student academic integrity
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion
• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress
• Prepare students for significant standardized assessments
• Establish and nurture a positive relationship with families
• Communicate promptly with students and parents/learning coaches
• Assist parents/learning coaches with curriculum, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting
• Travel for professional development, student evaluations, school events, and other necessary activities
• Collaborate with school leadership, coaches, administrators, teacher trainers, families, and fellow educators
• Required Michigan Teaching Certification
• Required Elementary Certificate
• Must reside in Michigan
• Bachelor’s degree
• Active state teaching license
• Ability to pass the necessary background check
• Capacity to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week
• Capability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours
• Ability to adhere to the school’s defined schedule, generally from 9–5 or 8–4
• Willingness to travel as needed, averaging once a month and/or about 20% of the time
• Experience working with the designated age group
• Proven experience in supporting both adults and children in utilizing technology
• Background in teaching within either an online or traditional classroom setting
• Familiarity with online learning platforms
• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data
• Skill in collaborating with fellow educators
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and educational platforms
• Capability to maintain teaching certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
