This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Deliver designated course material in an online setting.
• Offer instruction, support, and guidance tailored to the specific IEP needs of students.
• Oversee the learning process and collaborate with students and parents to enhance educational outcomes.
• Ensure the provision of special education and related services as established by the IEP team.
• Communicate with parents and related service personnel regarding necessary therapies.
• Create compliant IEPs, progress reports, and essential special education documentation.
• Lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP discussions.
• Implement accommodations and modifications through the use of assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible texts.
• Adjust lessons and assessments in accordance with IEP specifications.
• Promote inclusion and student achievement within general education classrooms.
• Gather data and work samples to monitor the progress of IEP goals and objectives.
• Record parent communications and student interventions.
• Analyze student data to recommend remediation and enrichment strategies.
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Maintain the grade book and make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Foster positive relationships with families and ensure effective communication with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and fundamental virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues.
• Florida 5-Year Professional Special Education certificate.
• Florida Reading and ESOL Endorsements.
• Must meet Florida residency requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Active state teaching license.
• Must pass the required background check.
• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Capability to maintain a professional home office without distractions during work hours.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other educators and utilize student data to inform instructional decisions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for professional development, student assessments, and as required by the school.
