This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Foster a nurturing, supportive, and inclusive school environment.
• Recognize and address the effects of trauma, equity, inclusive practices, and restorative methods.
• Offer coaching and professional growth in classroom management techniques.
• Work with staff and families to enhance student behavior, attendance, and engagement.
• Involve families, community members, businesses, postsecondary institutions, and local organizations.
• Apply behavior management strategies through strong relationships and positive reinforcement.
• Articulate the school's mission and vision while encouraging community feedback.
• Design and manage a comprehensive Career and Technical Education program.
• Oversee career development services and student transitions to postsecondary education and employment.
• Create, implement, and lead instructional programs; evaluate curriculum, pedagogy, lesson plans, and classroom instruction.
• Share accountability for academic success and social-emotional welfare.
• Organize and facilitate teacher professional development.
• Coordinate in-service days, parent-teacher conferences, and extended learning opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to MTSS/RTI processes with precision.
• Manage and supervise summer educational programs.
• Collaborate with Human Resources on recruiting, hiring, retaining, recognizing, and supporting school personnel.
• Uphold nondiscrimination practices and EEO compliance in staff recruitment.
• Work together on reporting requirements for state, charter authorizers, federal, sponsors, and charter renewals.
• Address compliance issues related to the school's Sponsor Agreement.
• Assist in state-required testing, including in-person assessments.
• Revise parent and student manuals, policies, and handbooks.
• Remain informed about current state policies, procedures, and legislation.
• Manage student issues escalated by parents and educators.
• Travel required: 15%.
• Valid Principal and Teacher licenses in the state of Ohio.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Successful completion of federal and state criminal background checks.
• Familiarity with state academic content standards.
• At least seven years of experience in education or a related area.
• Two or more years of successful experience in school administration or instructional leadership.
• Proven ability to develop and sustain a rigorous academic program catering to all students' needs.
• Experience with public education accountability, compliance, and associated legal obligations.
• Demonstrated capability to foster inclusive environments that respect and support a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
• Understanding and ability to handle confidential information.
• Knowledge of or experience with innovative school designs and instructional models, such as blended, inquiry-based, project-based, and personalized learning.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Residency in Ohio preferred.
• Advanced degree in education or educational leadership strongly preferred.
