Electrification Services Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Offer technical assistance to the Regional Commercial team in crafting field services proposals for power delivery, power utilization, and automation equipment and systems.

• Recognize and suggest value-added service solutions for industrial, utility, and commercial clients.

• Assist in proposals related to Power Distribution upgrades, Relay upgrades, and Arc Flash Mitigation Solutions.

• Discover and cultivate new business opportunities.

• Introduce and promote new products and services.

• Contribute to regional sales, order fulfillment, profitability, and ITO quality objectives.

• Create and deliver technical solutions that resonate with customer requirements.

• Shape customer specifications effectively.

• Prepare proposal documents that emphasize scope, advantages, and compliance.

• Provide technical leadership for Field Service proposals.

• Conduct site evaluations.

• Ascertain material and labor needs.

• Execute competitive analysis.

• Assist with engineering work scopes, timelines, and cost estimations.

• Communicate fulfillment necessities to sourcing and operations teams.

• Document competitor activities meticulously.

• Aid in new product introduction initiatives.

• Travel within the designated coverage area 50% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution coupled with 6 years of experience, OR a High School Diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience.

• Preferred experience with the application of Power Distribution upgrades, Relay upgrades, and Arc Flash Mitigation Solutions.

• Desired experience in application engineering or field engineering related to power delivery products and systems.

• Experience working with clients in Oil & Gas, metals, mining, paper, Power Generation, data centers, commercial buildings, or equivalent sectors is preferred.

• Experience in reviewing customer specifications, developing proposals, and managing contract negotiations is advantageous.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Proficient in delivering compelling presentations and engaging with all levels of the organization.

• Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership abilities with a customer-centric approach.

• Capability to thrive in team-oriented settings to devise complex, integrated solutions.

• Innovative problem-solving skills and a creative approach to challenges.

• Ability to develop and write technical specifications and proposals utilizing the full ABB portfolio.

• Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the US.
