This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Install, configure, conduct system start-up/check-out, certification, and provide associated customer training on designated Fire, Security, and/or Building Automation projects.

• Primarily engage in small to medium-sized projects that tend to be less intricate.

• Take on larger, more complex projects as necessary and when capable.

• Successfully deliver assigned projects within the allocated budget and timelines, seeking guidance as needed.

• Execute additional tasks and responsibilities as requested or required.

• Contribute to the Recruit Awesome People initiative by advocating for Convergint’s colleague-first culture and referring candidates to the Talent Acquisition Team and hiring managers.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience.

• Fundamental construction skills and comprehension of system plans.

• Basic ability to interpret and understand blueprints and design diagrams.

• Knowledge of wiring and labeling techniques, system wiring, wiring methodologies, and cable support installation (J-Hook, Raceway, Conduit, Cable Support).

• Basic mechanical and electrical understanding.

• Proficiency in using various hand and power tools, including drills, screwdrivers, wire strippers, hacksaws, and crimpers.

• Capability to read blueprints and drawings.

• Strong math skills, encompassing the calculation of area, velocity, resistance, and voltage for certain positions.

• Basic construction experience with some exposure to electrical or low voltage environments.

• Preferred but not mandatory: 1-3 years of relevant experience in electronics/electrical, fire alarm & life safety, data-cable installation, and/or building automation.
