Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Mission Critical

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serve as a project lead and technical resource, delivering technical work with minimal supervision while utilizing independent judgment and evaluation.

• Foster effective communication with clients, contractors, and other members of the project team.

• Direct and organize quality control and electrical testing teams on Mission Critical projects.

• Conduct design reviews focused on commissioning.

• Develop commissioning plans and specifications.

• Create Load Bank Plans.

• Review, analyze, and identify issues related to short circuit coordination studies and arc flash studies.

• Examine, analyze, and identify concerns with electrical submittals and shop drawings.

• Generate electrical checklists, functional test procedures, and integrated system tests.

• Compile field observation reports and status updates.

• Carry out functional tests and integrated system evaluations.

• Assemble systems manuals and commissioning reports.

• Assist in resolving electrical issues and formulating corrective action plans.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of progressive experience in electrical commissioning and engineering.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

• Proficient in the design, installation, testing, startup, and inspection of low and medium voltage systems, emergency power and UPS systems, SCADA systems, power monitoring, and electrical power distribution.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial.

• Proven experience in diagnosing and addressing construction and operational challenges.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, think creatively, and solve problems.

• Familiarity with MS Office Suite.

• Knowledgeable and well-versed in electrical codes (NEC/NFPA70), electrical acceptance testing standards (NETA), and IEEE standards association guidelines.

• Willingness to travel nationally up to 25% to support onsite project teams.

• A Professional Engineering License is a plus.

• Commissioning Certification is an advantage.

• Experience with relevant software (CxAlloy, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, AutoCAD/REVIT) is considered beneficial.
