This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
β’ Assist AECOM's expanding Power Delivery Practice in the United States.
β’ Execute technical tasks on high and medium voltage projects for municipal, utility, commercial, and industrial clients.
β’ Engage in substation retrofits and new construction, overhead and underground transmission, distributed generation, renewable energy, and energy master planning initiatives.
β’ Generate and uphold comprehensive electrical design sets by interpreting engineering red lines, markups, and directives.
β’ Develop and oversee 3D models for electrical systems, including layouts for substation equipment, conduit routing, cable tray systems, and device placements.
β’ Create electrical construction drawings encompassing plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, diagrams, and schematics.
β’ Amend drawings based on engineering feedback, RFIs, change orders, and construction site markups.
β’ Ensure that drawings adhere to company/client drafting and BIM standards, client specifications, applicable codes, and industry best practices.
β’ Maintain version control and file management for CAD and 3D model files throughout the project's lifecycle.
β’ Provide training and technical assistance to design staff regarding the building information modeling system.
β’ Conduct self and/or model health checks and peer reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
β’ Analyze challenges, identify solutions, and collaborate with engineering personnel.
β’ Successfully function within a team environment and communicate effectively with project team members.
β’ BA/BS in Engineering or a related discipline plus 4 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
β’ Proficiency in high voltage electrical CAD/BIM design.
β’ Experience in Revit 3D modeling environments, particularly for Substation Design.
β’ Proven experience engaging in complex, multi-discipline programs/projects and CAD teams.
β’ Familiarity with creating and managing BIM execution plans or model matrices.
β’ Knowledge of OmniClass and WBS applications.
β’ Understanding of the National Electric Code and other pertinent codes.
β’ Competence in utilizing Autodesk 2D.
β’ Familiarity with Bentley MicroStation.
β’ Experience in collaborative model environments such as Navisworks and Revizto.
β’ Experience managing Common Data Environments, including ProjectWise and ACC/Forma (Autodesk Construction Cloud).
β’ Understanding of vendor documentation and its application as a reference for assigned tasks.
β’ Exposure to substation facilities, including equipment, layouts, and designs.
β’ Sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is currently not available nor will it be in the future.
