Electrical and Instrumentation Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.

📋 Description

• Monitor and assess suppliers to ensure that the equipment delivered meets quality standards, regulatory requirements, and performance specifications.

• Travel to conduct onsite inspections, document evaluations, functional testing, and initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Oversee, review, and finalize supplier corrective action requests.

• Prepare and finalize audit reports including photographs and relay audit findings to cross-functional teams and suppliers.

• Evaluate supplier change notifications and assess their impact on internal systems.

• Keep comprehensive audit reports and supplier documentation.

• Collaborate with suppliers to guarantee product compliance and conduct supplier audits as necessary.

• Create measurement methodologies for product release at supplier sites.

• Provide support to external manufacturing sectors.

• Partner with production staff and supervisors to identify and track quality metrics and sampling strategies.

• Resolve issues related to non-conforming products.

• Aid in corrective and preventive action investigations to identify root causes.

• Inspect incoming supplies and vendor products for defects and quality compliance.

• Maintain supplier quality reports, detailing defect rates and sources of discrepancies.

• Act as a liaison between senior management, clients, and vendors.

• Analyze work instructions and drawings to interpret and verify production and assembly details.

⛳️ Requirements

• Willingness to work over 50 hours a week.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Relevant certification.

• At least 2 years of experience as an Electrical and Instrumentation Inspector or in a related field.

• Proficient in AC/DC applications as well as electrical, electronic, and pneumatic components.

• Familiarity with E&I testing, calibration, inspection, functional testing, and field installations.

• Strong understanding of electrical codes and industry standards for low, medium, and high voltage components.

• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

• Capable of reading, understanding, and adhering to company protocols and manufacturer guidelines.

• Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.

• Strong dedication to personal and team safety.

• Capacity to multitask and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

• Effective communication skills with team members, customers, and external parties via phone, written communication, email, and in-person interactions.

• Willingness to learn company-specific applications.

• Excellent customer service abilities.

• Must be able to travel 90–100% of the time.

• Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 lbs.

• Ability to engage in physical activities such as walking, climbing, bending, and sitting.

• Good dexterity for handling small objects.

• Regular and dependable attendance is required.

• Comfortable working in remote field environments and under extreme weather conditions.

• NCCER, CEI certification, and OSHA 10 certification are preferred.
