This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Conduct online English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classes via Zoom and MLA’s exclusive teaching platform.
• Instruct students in General English, Cambridge Exam Preparation, or Work Skills based on experience and program requirements.
• Equip learners aged 11–18 for A2 Key, B1 Preliminary, B2 First, and C1 Advanced examinations.
• Foster practical communication abilities through collaborative projects, role-plays, debates, and presentations.
• Deliver General English courses utilizing MLA’s Task-Based Learning syllabus, lesson plans, and instructional materials.
• Offer feedback on language usage and communication proficiency.
• Manage classrooms with up to 15 students.
• Be available for standby sessions and provide coverage for online lessons on short notice when necessary.
• Utilize standby time for lesson preparation and other teaching-related tasks when not required for cover.
• Participate in paid training scheduled between 12 and 19 November 2026.
• Teach within the online program from 23 November 2026 to 9 June 2027.
• Potentially continue teaching students in person at MLA summer schools in the UK or USA.
• May take on Assistant Director of Studies or Director of Studies responsibilities, subject to qualifications.
• Experience teaching EFL to groups in an online setting.
• Demonstrated experience with young learners.
• Confidence in teaching lower-level language learners.
• Level 5 TEFL qualification with an observed Teaching Practice component or its equivalent.
• Familiarity with online teaching platforms, video conferencing tools, and educational technologies.
• English proficiency at the CEFR C2 level.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and/or USA.
• Two satisfactory professional references, including one from a current employer or relevant referee.
• Ability to pass a satisfactory background or safeguarding check appropriate for the role.
• For UK positions, acceptable right-to-work documentation such as a UK passport, Frontier Worker Permit, Settled Status, or appropriate work visa.
• For USA positions, US citizenship or valid US work authorization is required.
• Desirable: experience teaching Cambridge examination classes or task-based learning to teenagers.
• Desirable: at least two years of experience in teaching EFL online, with young learners, or both.
• Desirable: experience in summer school settings.
• Availability Monday to Friday from 15:30 to 20:00 Italian local time (CET/CEST).
• Ability to remain accessible and reachable for standby sessions.
