EEO Attorney – Final Agency Decision Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.

📋 Description

• Draft and prepare Final Agency Decisions (FADs), which is the primary responsibility of this role.

• Evaluate Reports of Investigation (ROIs) for legal adequacy.

• Assist with the management of both informal and formal EEO complaints.

• Handle post-closure compliance and appeals processes.

• Create formal and intricate legal documents, such as accept/dismissal letters, appeal documents, counselor’s reports, and memorandums on complaint statuses.

• Perform legal research and engage in editing tasks.

• Analyze facts and relevant case law.

• Provide support to the United States Department of Agriculture in resolving program civil rights complaints.


⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree is mandatory.

• Must be licensed to practice law in a US State or Territory.

• A minimum of five (5) years of legal experience is required.

• At least three (3) years of experience in federal sector civil rights issues and/or handling federal sector EEO complaints is necessary.

• Must have at least three (3) years of experience writing Final Agency Decision reports at the federal level.

• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Public Trust Clearance is required.

• Must be a citizen of the United States.

• Familiarity with Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

• Understanding of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

• Knowledge of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

• Awareness of the Equal Pay Act.

• Insight into the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act.

• Knowledge of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act of 1974.

• Outstanding writing capabilities.

• Proficient in legal research and editing.

• Must be prepared to provide references and a writing sample during the interview process.
