Educational Sales Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Formulate and execute strategic initiatives aimed at discovering opportunities, addressing customer concerns and requirements, engaging in prospecting, nurturing relationships, conducting pre-work activities, and managing pilots, exhibits, conferences, and lead follow-ups.

• Meet or exceed sales targets for the designated territory while adhering to budgetary constraints.

• Create strategic plans for supplemental, core, and professional development sales to secure business wins.

• Maintain CRM records for the territory, detailing opportunities, contacts, successes, and setbacks.

• Generate quotes and assist with proposals, including the assessment and analysis of RFPs.

• Showcase and present both print and digital products in diverse environments.

• Leverage competitive insights to effectively position and present products.

• Utilize resources such as consultants, promotions, samples, authors, and management support.

• Provide forecasts for sales, sampling, and inventory needs.

• Analyze and relay technology and market trends to management, editorial, and marketing teams.

• Identify and engage with new and existing customers in Texas schools.

• Employ negotiation skills and closing techniques to secure business deals.

• Coordinate product training sessions with customers and professional development personnel.

• Organize and execute Invitationals and presentations.

• Attend selected local, national, and regional exhibits.

• Follow up on leads generated from online advertisements, promotions, exhibits, and conferences.

• Review and provide constructive feedback on marketing materials.

• Participate in weekly sales team conference calls.

• Carry out general administrative tasks and additional assigned projects.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field.

• Three to five years of sales experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

• Quick learner with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented.

• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Exceptional verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.

• Professional demeanor and disposition, capable of addressing external inquiries promptly and courteously.

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

• Ability to remain composed under pressure with flexibility and a willingness to work extended hours.

• Experience in educational publishing is a plus, but not mandatory.
