This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Create and execute strategic sales initiatives aimed at identifying opportunities, addressing customer needs, prospecting, fostering relationships, conducting pilots, participating in exhibits and conferences, and following up on leads.
• Meet or exceed sales targets for the territory while adhering to expense guidelines.
• Formulate strategies for supplemental, core, and professional development sales to secure business.
• Oversee territory CRM records, including opportunities, contacts, successes, and losses.
• Produce quotes and assist in proposals, including the assessment and evaluation of RFPs.
• Showcase and demonstrate print and digital products in various environments.
• Leverage competitive insights to effectively position products and secure business.
• Engage consultants, promotions, samples, authors, and management resources as needed.
• Deliver sales, sampling, and inventory projections.
• Analyze and convey technology and market trends to management, editorial, and marketing teams.
• Prospect and engage with new and existing school customers in Southern California.
• Employ negotiation skills and closing techniques to secure business deals.
• Organize product training sessions for customers and professional development personnel.
• Plan and execute Invitationals and presentations.
• Attend selected local, national, and regional exhibits.
• Follow up on leads generated from online advertisements, exhibits, and conferences.
• Review and provide constructive feedback on marketing materials.
• Participate in weekly sales team conference calls.
• Carry out general administrative tasks and other assigned projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field.
• Three to five years of sales experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Highly organized and detail-focused.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
• Professional demeanor and orientation (capable of managing and responding to external requests promptly and courteously).
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a high-pressure setting.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure with flexibility (available for extended hours).
• Experience in educational publishing is an advantage, but not mandatory.
