This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.
• Oversee the editorial direction and daily operations for the brand(s).
• Manage freelance expenses within budget while fulfilling content requirements across digital, print, niche, and event publications.
• Choose honorees for recognition products based on community discussions, nominations, and recommendations.
• Promote digital expertise and a digital-first approach among editorial personnel.
• Stay abreast of AI trends and advancements, ensuring compliance with BTM ethics guidelines.
• Lead or coordinate the production of special products in alignment with BTM standards.
• Oversee the publication of content submitted by the community, including columns and opinion pieces.
• Enhance audience engagement by understanding audience needs.
• Meet monthly metrics goals established by the editorial committee and executive team.
• Communicate and uphold company culture, policies, and legal standards.
• Report on and write news and feature articles for legal publications.
• Generate innovative concepts for legal news coverage and remain updated on legal news and events.
• Act as the representative of the publication within the local legal community.
• Emcee and network at events.
• Moderate and assist in choosing panelists for webinars and panel discussions.
• Attend significant community business events to foster connections and represent the brand.
• Assist sales staff with pitches to potential advertisers while preserving editorial integrity.
• Address community feedback, criticism, and suggestions.
• Collaborate with other leaders to develop editorial vision, key beats, special product calendars, and story volume expectations.
• Support events by creating summit themes, brainstorming speakers, selecting honorees, writing/editing scripts, and reviewing videos.
• Work with other departments to create revenue streams focused on editorial content.
• Aid in guiding the company towards profitability while implementing its vision, mission, and long-term objectives.
• Comprehend brand revenue streams and the editorial department’s influence on them.
• Candidates must reside within the local markets served by the role: North Carolina and South Carolina; preference for candidates based in NC.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to shifting priorities.
• Capacity to exercise independent judgment and make discretionary decisions regarding client needs and other aspects of the sales process.
