This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Assess submissions and create reader’s reports.
• Assist in copywriting and researching similar titles.
• Participate in virtual editorial meetings.
• Provide feedback based on personal reading and submissions from editors.
• Aid editors in collaborating with authors to transform manuscripts into completed books.
• Contribute to editorial activities, including content, structural, and line-by-line editing.
• Work together on book packaging, marketing strategies, and publicity efforts.
• Gain insights into publishing through panels, networking opportunities, and employee speaker series.
• Must be prepared to work full-time on or before June 2028.
• Available to work 28 hours per week throughout the program.
• Committed to working from June 7, 2027, to August 12, 2027.
• Must reside in the U.S. for the entire duration of the internship.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Primarily able to work on Eastern Time.
• A resume and cover letter are required.
• The cover letter must specify desired children’s genres: board books, picture books, middle grade, and/or YA.
• No college enrollment or degree is necessary.
• Paid 10-week remote internship.
• Compensation of $21 per hour.
