This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Acquire new projects and enhance the development and production of both new and existing initiatives.
• Contribute to the overall commercial creative execution of the BOOM! Studios portfolio.
• Oversee scheduling, communication, administration, creative development, and production for titles under your responsibility.
• Act as the main point of contact and project manager.
• Provide editorial assistance within the Executive Editor’s office, which includes scheduling, talent relations, internal tracking, and routing.
• Negotiate contracts for new projects.
• Identify, engage, and retain new talent.
• Collaborate on and formulate go-to-market strategies.
• Conduct development meetings and pinpoint sales and marketing opportunities.
• Work alongside production design on branding, packaging, and overall design elements.
• Establish and enforce deadlines for talent throughout the editorial production process.
• Assist sales, marketing, and metadata teams with relevant metadata and assets.
• Manage creator and licensor approvals for editorial production materials.
• Distribute weekly, monthly, and seasonal updates, reports, and presentations.
• Execute other related projects or tasks as assigned.
• A minimum of five years of experience in comic book and graphic novel editing is essential.
• Outstanding attention to detail and proofreading capabilities.
• Strong prioritization and follow-up skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively, meet deadlines, take initiative, and creatively solve problems.
• Ability to cultivate relationships with other departments; a collaborative mindset.
• Possess strategic and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to monitor market conditions and trends.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Solutions-oriented and adaptable to change.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Airtable is a bonus.
