Drafting Detailer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain comprehensive fabrication and erection drawings for metal building systems utilizing Tekla Structures.

• Create precise 3D models, shop drawings, assembly drawings, and detailed drawings in accordance with project specifications and engineering documentation.

• Examine architectural, structural, and engineering drawings to ascertain dimensions, specifications, connections, and other detailing necessities.

• Ensure that drawings and models accurately represent design specifications, material requirements, and manufacturing standards.

• Collaborate on detailing needs with engineering, manufacturing, project management, and other internal departments.

• Detect discrepancies, design conflicts, and absent information, and communicate these issues for resolution.

• Update drawings and models based on engineering modifications, customer needs, and production requirements.

• Confirm the accuracy of dimensions, material quantities, connections, and other essential details.

• Produce clear and precise drawings that convey fabrication and installation requirements effectively.

• Maintain orderly project files and documentation throughout the detailing process.

• Adhere to company drafting standards, procedures, and quality expectations.

• Contribute to the enhancement of drafting and detailing processes to boost accuracy and production efficiency.

• Communicate effectively with team members while operating in a remote setting.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree, technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the metal building sector is required.

• Proficient experience with Tekla Structures is mandatory.

• Comprehensive knowledge of metal building systems, structural steel, and fabrication processes is essential.

• Capability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.

• Strong grasp of dimensions, tolerances, connections, materials, and fabrication requirements.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to identify and resolve drafting and detailing challenges.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management abilities.

• Capacity to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.

• Experience in detailing pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB) is preferred.

• Background in structural steel fabrication or manufacturing is preferred.

• Familiarity with primary and secondary framing, roof and wall systems, bracing, and structural connections is preferred.

• Experience in coordinating with engineering and manufacturing teams is preferred.

• Additional experience with CAD or related structural detailing software is preferred.
