This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Identify potential donors through recruitment data, alternate contacts, online search tools, paid search engines, and social media platforms.
• Reach out to and inform donors regarding the donation process, commitment, and retention strategies.
• Employ behavioral coaching techniques, utilize open-ended inquiries, practice reflective listening, and summarize conversations to overcome donation obstacles.
• Perform health screenings for donors and evaluate both medical and non-medical factors.
• Collaborate with Medical Services, Provider Services, and Donor Advocacy concerning unique donor situations.
• Organize blood draws, schedule appointments, manage locations, order kits, track donors and kits, and handle follow-up documentation.
• Execute operational tasks, initial contact activities, documentation, and updates to donor files within set deadlines.
• Uphold confidentiality and serve as an identity guardian.
• Provide updates to Provider Services and record donor activities in STAR Link/Salesforce.
• Foster relationships with Donor Operations, donor center personnel, collaborating departments, and external vendors.
• Coordinate efforts with Provider Services, NMDP KitMaker, laboratories, draw sites, and Workup teams.
• Maintain awareness of HLA and blood stem cell transplantation.
• Assist with managing the STAR Link donor database.
• Offer call-queue coverage and support the shared team environment.
• Carry out responsibilities in compliance with NMDP standards, CFR, FDA guidance, OSHA regulations, and relevant laws.
• A Bachelor’s degree in human services or a healthcare-related field is necessary; equivalent relevant healthcare experience and/or educational background may be considered upon assessment.
• A minimum of three years of professional experience effectively communicating with individuals or providing coaching on behavior change is required.
• Three years of experience in customer relations, direct patient interaction, or care within a clinical/healthcare setting can substitute for behavioral coaching experience.
• Proficient in basic word processing and data entry is essential.
• Familiarity with MS Office, including basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database software applications is required.
• Strong computer skills while simultaneously engaging with customers are necessary.
• Advanced skills in internet research, particularly with social media platforms.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to ask probing questions in a mission-driven call center environment.
• Capability to manage a large volume of diverse file types.
• Proficiency in utilizing available people finder tools effectively.
• Strong customer service, critical thinking, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced multimedia environment using phone, email, text, and mail.
• Competence in conveying medical information, handling confidential data, and maintaining thorough documentation.
• Ability to work autonomously while also contributing to team efforts.
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to follow-through.
