Domain Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the data architecture strategy, roadmap, and standards within a designated business domain.

• Convert enterprise data principles into actionable domain data models, patterns, ownership frameworks, and governance methodologies.

• Establish authoritative data entities, their relationships, integration touchpoints, and consumption models for both applications and analytics.

• Facilitate data architecture reviews for new projects, migrations, enhancements, and platform decisions.

• Ensure consistency with enterprise standards regarding modeling, naming conventions, security, privacy, lineage, retention, and scalability.

• Collaborate with engineering, product management, analytics, integration, and platform teams to deliver reliable and reusable data solutions.

• Define reference architectures and ingestion patterns from source to consumption, including batch processing, APIs, event-driven methods, and CDC-based replication into landing and curated datasets.

• Assess data platforms, integration tools, modeling strategies, and vendor solutions, including MDM, cataloging, quality management, and document/NoSQL databases as applicable.

• Undertake additional tasks as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Engineering, or a related field is required; equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.

• Over 5 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, software engineering, or a comparable technical position.

• Proven experience in designing data solutions across operational, analytical, warehouse, lakehouse, and application environments.

• Experience in developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models while adhering to enterprise data governance standards.

• Familiarity with ingestion and integration patterns, including batch processing, APIs, event-driven techniques, and CDC/log-based replication.

• Experience in collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders to provide analytics-ready data structures and assist with migration and impact assessments.

• Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, data modeling, governance, quality, lineage, and master/reference data concepts.

• Proficient in Azure, Snowflake, Tableau, Matillion, Kafka, APIs, and PostgreSQL.

• Knowledge of CDC design patterns, the distinction between operational and analytical separation, MongoDB document modeling, and AI-assisted data design and documentation methods.

• Experienced in AI agentic programming design and engineering.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, stakeholder engagement, influence without authority, and mentoring abilities.
