This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as a member of Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment teams and assist in field assessment operations within designated disaster-affected areas.
• Evaluate and document the operational impacts that may hinder, disrupt, or prevent access to human services.
• Utilize knowledge of human services delivery to articulate how disaster conditions might affect service providers and the populations they serve.
• Identify and record service-access impacts related to child care, child welfare, elder care, intimate partner violence services, homelessness services, trafficking services, nutrition assistance, economic self-sufficiency programs, disability supports, and other access and functional needs.
• Conduct interviews and collect information from human service providers, local officials, community partners, and authorized sources using approved methods and tools.
• Document observations and impacts on human services in designated systems; keep notes, assessment records, and necessary reports.
• Collaborate with civil engineers and technical specialists regarding the conditions of observed facilities.
• Identify service gaps, operational challenges, resource requirements, and recovery considerations.
• Assist in the creation of assessment summaries, briefings, reports, and other mission-related products.
• Provide social work, crisis support, resource navigation, or referral assistance when within the mission's scope and qualifications.
• Safeguard PII, assessment records, and Federal information; adhere to privacy, confidentiality, cybersecurity, records management, and Rules of Behavior protocols.
• Employ culturally responsive practices and consider individuals with disabilities and others with access and functional needs.
• Engage in readiness activities, training, exercises, operational briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Maintain deployment readiness and be prepared to deploy within required operational timeframes in field and austere environments.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Exhibit outstanding customer service by prioritizing the needs of the child, family, Veteran, or client.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a closely related human services field is preferred.
• Advanced education in Social Work or a related discipline is desirable.
• Any required license or certification specific to an assignment must be current and maintained.
• Relevant experience in social work, human services, community services, needs assessment, case management, disaster response/recovery, or service-system coordination is preferred.
• Experience assessing barriers to human service delivery or working with vulnerable and disaster-affected populations is desirable.
• Must complete organization-required screenings, background investigations, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, role-based training, and standardized Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment training prior to accessing applicable Government systems or assessment records and before deployment, as required.
• Must maintain reliable availability while deployment-ready and work variable schedules, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays when operationally necessary.
• Nationwide travel and deployment to disaster-impacted locations is mandatory.
• Must be capable of deploying within required contract timeframes, including a 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.
• A Driver’s License with a clean record is required.
• Must have daily access to a vehicle without prior notice.
• Must be able to work in disaster-impacted or austere environments.
• Must successfully complete and maintain required screenings, credentialing, background investigations, training, licenses/certifications when applicable, and security/access requirements.
• Must demonstrate exceptional customer service.
