This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Serve as a key member of Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment teams.
• Assist in field assessment efforts within designated disaster-affected areas.
• Evaluate and record operational impacts that influence access to human services.
• Analyze effects related to facilities, equipment, vehicles, grounds, utilities, accessibility, staffing, and service delivery conditions.
• Clarify how disaster situations may impact human service providers and the populations they serve.
• Identify and document service access challenges across child care, child welfare, elder care, intimate partner violence, homelessness, trafficking, nutrition assistance, economic self-sufficiency, disability supports, and similar services.
• Conduct interviews and collect information from service providers, officials, community partners, and authorized sources.
• Maintain records of assessments, supporting notes, designated systems of record, and necessary reports.
• Collaborate with civil engineers and technical experts regarding facility conditions.
• Identify service gaps, operational challenges, resource requirements, and recovery considerations.
• Assist in creating assessment summaries, briefings, reports, and other mission-related products.
• Provide social work, crisis support, resource navigation, or referral aid within the mission's scope.
• Safeguard PII, assessment records, and federal information.
• Employ culturally responsive practices while considering access and functional needs.
• Engage in readiness activities, training, exercises, briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and ongoing improvement efforts.
• Ensure deployment readiness and respond within required operational timelines.
• Operate safely in field and austere environments.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a closely related field is preferred.
• Advanced education in Social Work or a similar field is advantageous.
• Any license or certification specific to an assignment must be current and maintained.
• Must complete organizational and required screenings, background investigations, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, role-based training, and standardized Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment training.
• Must ensure reliable availability while being deployment-ready.
• Capable of working flexible schedules, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate.
• Required nationwide travel and deployment to disaster-affected sites.
• Able to deploy within required contract timeframes, including the 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.
• Possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Must have regular access to a vehicle without prior notice.
• Capable of working in disaster-stricken or austere settings.
• Must successfully complete and maintain required screenings, credentialing, background investigations, training, licenses/certifications as applicable, and security/access requirements.
