This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Serve as a key member of Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment teams.
• Assist with field assessment efforts in designated disaster-affected areas.
• Evaluate and document the operational impacts on access to human services.
• Analyze impacts related to facilities, equipment, vehicles, grounds, utilities, accessibility, staffing, and service delivery conditions.
• Clarify how disaster situations may influence human service providers and the communities they serve.
• Identify and document access issues across services such as child care, child welfare, elder care, intimate partner violence, homelessness, trafficking, nutrition assistance, economic self-sufficiency, disability supports, and other related services.
• Conduct interviews and collect information from providers, local officials, community partners, and authorized sources.
• Keep accurate observations, assessment records, supporting notes, and necessary reports.
• Collaborate with civil engineers and technical specialists regarding facility conditions.
• Identify service deficiencies, operational obstacles, resource requirements, and recovery considerations.
• Assist in creating assessment summaries, briefings, reports, and other mission-related products.
• Offer social work, crisis support, resource navigation, or referral assistance within the mission scope.
• Safeguard PII, assessment records, and Federal information.
• Employ culturally responsive practices while considering access and functional needs.
• Engage in readiness activities, training, exercises, briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain deployment readiness and deploy within the required operational timeframes.
• Operate safely in field and austere environments.
• Deliver outstanding customer service, prioritizing children, families, Veterans, and clients.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a closely related human services field is preferred.
• Advanced education in Social Work or a related field is advantageous.
• Any license or certification necessary for a specific assignment must be current and maintained.
• Relevant experience in social work, human services, community services, needs assessment, case management, disaster response/recovery, or service system coordination is preferred.
• Experience in evaluating barriers to human service delivery or working with vulnerable and disaster-affected populations is desirable.
• Must complete required screening, background investigation, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, role-based training, and standardized Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment training prior to gaining access or deployment.
• Must be reliably available while deployment ready, including variable schedules, extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays when operationally required.
• Nationwide travel and deployment to disaster-impacted areas are required.
• Ability to deploy within required contract timeframes, including the 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.
• A valid Driver’s License with a clear record is necessary.
• Daily use of a vehicle without prior notice is required.
• Capacity to work in disaster-impacted or austere environments.
• Successful completion and maintenance of required screening, credentialing, background investigation, training, licenses/certifications when applicable, and security/access requirements.
