This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
β’ Serve as a member of the Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment teams in areas affected by disasters.
β’ Evaluate and document the operational impacts on access to human services, which include facilities, equipment, vehicles, grounds, utilities, accessibility, staffing, and service delivery conditions.
β’ Utilize knowledge of human services to articulate how disaster circumstances affect both providers and the populations they serve.
β’ Identify and record the impacts on service access related to child care, child welfare, elder care, intimate partner violence services, homelessness services, labor and sex trafficking services, nutrition assistance, economic self-sufficiency programs, and disability supports.
β’ Conduct interviews and collect information from providers, officials, community partners, and authorized sources.
β’ Document observations and impacts in designated record systems while maintaining supporting notes, assessment records, and reports.
β’ Collaborate with civil engineers and technical specialists regarding the conditions of facilities.
β’ Identify service gaps, operational challenges, resource needs, and recovery considerations.
β’ Assist in the production of assessment summaries, briefings, reports, and other mission-related documents.
β’ Offer social work, crisis support, resource navigation, or referral assistance as long as it falls within the mission scope.
β’ Safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII), assessment records, and Federal data, complying with privacy, cybersecurity, records management, and Rules of Behavior requirements.
β’ Engage in readiness activities, training, exercises, briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
β’ Maintain readiness for deployment and ensure timely response in field and austere environments.
β’ Exemplify outstanding customer service by prioritizing the needs of the child, family, Veteran, or client.
β’ A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a closely related human services field is preferred.
β’ Any license or certification necessary for a specific assignment must be current and kept up-to-date.
β’ Relevant experience in social work, human services, community services, needs assessment, case management, disaster response/recovery, or service-system coordination is preferred.
β’ Experience in evaluating barriers to human service delivery or working with vulnerable, disaster-affected populations is desirable.
β’ Completion of organizational and required screenings, background investigations, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, role-based training, and standardized Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment training is mandatory before accessing applicable Government systems or assessment records and prior to deployment, as required.
β’ Must be reliably available while designated as deployment-ready and be able to work on variable schedules, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays when operationally necessary.
β’ Nationwide travel and deployment to disaster-impacted locations is required.
β’ Must be capable of deploying within the required contract timeframes, including the 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.
β’ Possession of a Driverβs License with a clean record is required.
β’ Must have daily access to a vehicle without prior notice.
β’ Must be able to work in disaster-impacted or austere environments and successfully complete and maintain all required screenings, credentialing, background investigations, training, licenses/certifications when applicable, and security/access requirements.
