This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Act as a subject-matter expert in human services for Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment operations.
• Participate as a member of multidisciplinary teams focused on Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment.
• Evaluate and document the impacts of disasters on human service provider facilities, equipment, vehicles, grounds, utilities, accessibility, staffing, and service delivery.
• Clarify how observed disaster conditions could influence service providers and the populations they assist.
• Identify and record service-access impacts in areas such as child care, child welfare, elder care, intimate partner violence, homelessness, trafficking, nutrition assistance, economic self-sufficiency, disability support, and other related services.
• Conduct interviews with human service providers, local officials, community partners, and other authorized individuals using approved protocols and tools.
• Ensure accurate observations, maintain assessment records, supporting notes, and necessary reports.
• Collaborate with civil engineers and technical specialists regarding facility conditions.
• Identify service gaps, operational barriers, resource requirements, and recovery considerations.
• Assist in the preparation of assessment summaries, briefings, reports, and other mission-related products.
• Offer social work, crisis support, resource navigation, or referral assistance when within the scope of the mission and qualifications.
• Safeguard PII, assessment records, and Federal information while adhering to privacy, cybersecurity, records management, and Rules of Behavior requirements.
• Employ culturally responsive practices and address the needs of individuals with disabilities and those requiring access and functional support.
• Engage in readiness activities, training sessions, exercises, briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure deployment readiness and be able to deploy within required operational timeframes in both field and austere environments.
• Provide outstanding customer service, prioritizing the needs of children, families, Veterans, and clients.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a closely related human services field is preferred.
• Advanced education in Social Work or a related field is an advantage.
• Any license or certification necessary for a specific assignment must be current and maintained.
• Relevant experience in social work, human services, community services, needs assessment, case management, disaster response/recovery, or service-system coordination is preferred.
• Experience in evaluating barriers to human service delivery or in working with vulnerable and disaster-affected populations is desirable.
• Completion of organization-specific screening, background investigation, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, role-based training, and standardized Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment training is required before gaining access or deployment.
• Must maintain consistent availability while being deployment-ready and work variable schedules, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as operationally needed.
• Nationwide travel and deployment to disaster-impacted areas are required.
• Must deploy within required contract timeframes, including the 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.
• A valid Driver’s License with a clean record is essential.
• Must have daily access to a vehicle without prior notice.
• Capable of working in disaster-impacted or austere environments.
• Must successfully complete and maintain all required screening, credentialing, background investigation, training, licenses/certifications as applicable, and security/access requirements.
