This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Deliver essential advisory and strategic planning services to recovery clients.

• Manage a large team effectively.

• Act as a disaster recovery specialist, assisting local governments with long-term recovery efforts from natural disasters.

• Function as a hands-on project manager overseeing intricate and dynamic disaster recovery initiatives.

• Utilize knowledge of the FEMA Public Assistance (PA) Program—Permanent Work (Categories C-G)—to strategically seek and combine funding for complex post-catastrophic disaster requirements.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on the FEMA PA Program and provide answers to policy-related inquiries.

• Supervise a multi-disciplinary recovery team focusing on cost recovery, infrastructure redevelopment, economic development, housing, social services, and related sectors.

• Assign tasks, evaluate staffing needs, and develop strategies to address unmet needs while maximizing funding opportunities.

• Adhere to project management best practices.

• Ensure clients are well-informed about all efforts and deliverables, maintaining the highest quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience supporting local governments affected by natural disasters through various federal disaster grant programs from the initial stages of a disaster until grant obligation and closeout.

• At least four years of experience in the FEMA PA Program, including Permanent Work (Categories C-G).

• Proven track record in managing complex and evolving projects.

• High proficiency in written communication, with the capability to create nuanced and policy-complex recommendation documents.

• Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to present effectively to high-level stakeholders.

• Prior experience managing workloads for large multi-disciplinary teams with diverse levels of expertise (from junior associates to senior subject matter experts).

• Strong skills in MS Office products, databases, and other software/technology platforms.

• A bachelor's degree is required.
