Disaster Recovery Documentation and Compliance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the maintenance and updating of Disaster Recovery runbooks, procedures, COOP plans, and contingency documentation.

• Ensure that all documentation complies with RMF control requirements, especially within the Contingency Planning (CP) control family.

• Manage version control, document history, naming conventions, and archival procedures.

• Guarantee that materials are compliant with Section 508, accessible, and formatted correctly.

• Assist in the preparation of After Action Reviews (AARs), Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), Disaster Recovery test reports, and documentation of DR readiness.

• Compile and present evidence, diagrams, and documentation packages for audit and assessment teams.

• Collaborate with continuity, engineering, cybersecurity, and database teams to gather updates and confirm technical accuracy.

• Maintain content within shared repositories, documentation portals, and knowledge management systems.

• Monitor changes across systems and revise documentation to reflect new architectures, configurations, and processes.

• Create templates, style guides, and documentation standards for Disaster Recovery and COOP materials.

• Promote the ongoing enhancement of documentation workflows, quality processes, and compliance alignment.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active Secret clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Assurance, Information Technology, Technical Writing, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in technical writing, Disaster Recovery documentation, compliance documentation, or IT governance.

• Proficient in writing or maintaining COOP, DR, or RMF-related documentation.

• Experience in preparing control evidence, audit materials, or RMF artifacts.

• Familiarity with collaborating with engineering and cybersecurity teams to ensure content accuracy.

• Experience in managing version-controlled documentation repositories.

• Strong knowledge of Disaster Recovery, COOP, and contingency planning documentation requirements.

• Understanding of RMF controls, particularly the Contingency Planning (CP) family.

• Knowledge of accessibility standards and 508-compliant formatting.

• Experience with documentation and process alignment according to ITIL v4.

• ITIL v4 Foundation certification is required.

• Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

• Capable of translating complex technical content into clear and structured documentation.

• Excellent organizational skills for overseeing document repositories and version control.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional technical and compliance teams.

• Strong communication skills for coordinating audits and conducting documentation reviews.
