This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Act as a subject-matter expert in human services for Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment operations.
• Participate as part of multidisciplinary teams focused on Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment.
• Evaluate and document the effects of disasters on human service provider facilities, equipment, vehicles, grounds, utilities, accessibility, staffing, and service delivery.
• Assess how disaster situations influence providers and community access to human services.
• Identify and record the impacts on service access across areas such as child care, child welfare, elder care, intimate partner violence, homelessness, trafficking, nutrition assistance, economic self-sufficiency, disability supports, and related services.
• Conduct interviews with human service providers, local officials, community partners, and other authorized individuals.
• Keep precise observations, assessment records, supporting notes, and necessary reports.
• Collaborate with civil engineers and technical specialists regarding facility conditions.
• Recognize service gaps, operational barriers, resource needs, and recovery considerations.
• Assist in the preparation of assessment summaries, briefings, reports, and other mission-related documents.
• Provide social work, crisis support, resource navigation, or referral assistance as permitted within the mission scope.
• Safeguard PII, assessment records, and federal information while adhering to privacy, cybersecurity, records management, and Rules of Behavior requirements.
• Engage in readiness activities, training, exercises, briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensure deployment readiness and deploy securely within required timeframes in both field and austere settings.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a closely related human services discipline is preferred.
• Advanced education in Social Work or a related field is advantageous.
• Any necessary license or certification for a specific assignment must be current and maintained.
• Relevant experience in social work, human services, community services, needs assessment, case management, disaster response/recovery, or service system coordination is preferred.
• Experience in evaluating challenges to human service delivery or working with vulnerable and disaster-affected populations is desirable.
• Must complete organization-required screening, background investigation, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, role-based training, and standardized Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment training prior to gaining access to applicable systems or records and deployment.
• Must maintain consistent availability while prepared for deployment and work flexible schedules, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as operationally necessary.
• Nationwide travel and deployment to disaster-affected locations is a requirement.
• Must adhere to required contract timeframes for deployment, including the 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.
• A valid Driver’s License with a clean record is required.
• Must have daily access to a vehicle without prior notice.
• Must be capable of operating in disaster-impacted or austere environments.
• Must successfully complete and maintain all required screening, credentialing, background investigations, training, licenses/certifications when applicable, and security/access requirements.
