This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Join as a member of Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment teams.
• Assist with field assessment activities in designated disaster-affected areas.
• Evaluate and document the operational impacts on access to human services.
• Analyze impacts related to facilities, equipment, vehicles, grounds, utilities, accessibility, staffing, and service delivery conditions.
• Clarify how disaster situations may influence human service providers and the populations they support.
• Identify and document impacts on service access across child care, child welfare, elder care, intimate partner violence, homelessness, trafficking, nutrition assistance, economic self-sufficiency, disability supports, and similar services.
• Conduct interviews and collect information from providers, local officials, community partners, and authorized sources.
• Document observations, impacts on human services, supporting notes, assessment records, and necessary reports.
• Collaborate with civil engineers and technical specialists regarding facility conditions.
• Identify service gaps, operational challenges, resource needs, and recovery considerations.
• Assist with assessment summaries, briefings, reports, and other mission-related products.
• Provide social work, crisis support, resource navigation, or referral assistance within the mission's scope.
• Safeguard PII, assessment records, and Federal information while adhering to privacy, cybersecurity, records management, and Rules of Behavior standards.
• Implement culturally responsive practices while considering individuals with disabilities and others who have access and functional needs.
• Engage in readiness activities, training, exercises, briefings, debriefings, hot washes, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain deployment readiness and be prepared to deploy within required operational timelines.
• Operate safely in field and austere conditions.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, prioritizing the needs of children, families, Veterans, and clients.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a closely related human services field is preferred.
• Advanced education in Social Work or a related discipline is desirable.
• Any license or certification necessary for a specific assignment must be current and maintained.
• Relevant experience in social work, human services, community services, needs assessment, case management, disaster response/recovery, or service-system coordination is preferred.
• Experience in evaluating barriers to human service delivery or working with vulnerable and disaster-affected populations is desirable.
• Must complete mandatory screening, background investigation, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, role-based training, and standardized Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment training.
• Must ensure reliable availability while deployment-ready and work flexible schedules, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as operationally required.
• Nationwide travel and deployment to disaster-impacted areas are mandatory.
• Must deploy within required contract timelines, including the 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.
• A valid Driver’s License with a clean record is required.
• Must have daily access to a vehicle without prior notice.
• Must be available and willing to travel across the nation and deploy within required contract timeframes.
• Must be capable of operating in disaster-impacted or austere environments.
• Must successfully complete and maintain all required screening, credentialing, background investigation, training, licenses/certifications when applicable, and security/access requirements.
