This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Conduct standard clinical evaluations and assessments of disability claims that necessitate further examination.

• Analyze medical documentation while utilizing clinical expertise to validate disability claims and assess the impact of conditions on job performance.

• Interact with employees and healthcare providers via phone and written communication regarding clinical updates, progress, and work status.

• Offer follow-up recommendations for the ongoing medical management of claims.

• Attain suitable quality audit scores.

• Act as a clinical resource for claims examiners on medical terminology, management, and decision-making regarding claims.

• Serve as a backup for critical disability claims on an as-needed basis.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Travel as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

• Required: Current RN, LVN, LPN, CRC, COHN CVE, LPC, and/or LCSW licenses.

• Maintain a current license, registration, and/or professional certifications as mandated within the relevant jurisdiction.

• Uphold clinical expertise through necessary continuing education units (CEUs) to sustain licenses and certifications.

• Required: Four (4) years of relevant experience or a suitable combination of experience and education.

• Experience in a direct medical/psychological environment or within physical industrial medicine.

• Previous experience in insurance or a related field.

• Familiarity with current medical practices in healthcare management, including orthopedics, general medicine, general surgery, mental health, obstetrics, oncology, and physical and occupational rehabilitation.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentations.

• Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.

• Proficient analytical and interpretive abilities.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities.

• Outstanding interpersonal skills.

• Capability to exercise sound judgment and critical thinking.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.

• Capacity to meet or surpass performance competencies.

• Ability to manage work-related stress, multiple priorities, and deadlines.

• Ability to remain seated at a desk for extended durations while using a computer and phone system.

• Travel as necessary.
