Disability Clinical Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct standard clinical assessments and evaluations of designated disability claims.

• Analyze medical documentation and utilize clinical expertise to validate disability claims and assess their implications on job responsibilities.

• Interact with employees and healthcare providers via phone and/or written communication regarding clinical status, progress updates, and work capabilities.

• Offer follow-up recommendations for ongoing medical management of claims.

• Attain appropriate quality audit ratings.

• Serve as a clinical resource for claims examiners, offering insights on medical terminology and claim determinations.

• Provide backup for essential disability claims on an as-needed basis.

• Execute additional tasks as assigned.

• Travel as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred.

• Current licenses such as RN, LVN, LPN, CRC, COHN CVE, LPC, and/or LCSW are required.

• Maintain current licenses, registrations, and/or professional designations as mandated within the jurisdiction.

• Keep clinical knowledge updated through necessary CEUs to sustain licenses and designations.

• A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience or an equivalent mix of experience and education is required.

• Experience in a direct medical/psychological environment or physical industrial medicine.

• Previous experience in insurance or related fields.

• Familiarity with current medical practices in healthcare management, including but not limited to orthopedics, general medicine, general surgery, mental health, obstetrics, oncology, and physical and occupational rehabilitation.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentation.

• Competent computer skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Strong analytical and interpretive abilities.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities.

• Outstanding interpersonal skills.

• Capacity to exercise sound judgment and critical thinking abilities.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.

• Capability to meet or surpass Performance Competencies.

• Ability to remain seated at a desk for prolonged periods while using a computer and phone system.

• Travel as necessary.
